Privacy policy

This policy covers the website udslib.com and the uds-toolbox MCP server at mcp.udslib.com (also published as the UDS Toolbox plugin for ChatGPT and other AI clients). Both are run by Andrii Shylenko e.v., Hungary, the data controller. Contact: andrii@shylenko.com.
Short version
The UDS Toolbox plugin needs no account and keeps nothing you send it. It turns the bytes, CAN frames or DTCs in a request into an answer and forgets them. The website counts visits with Google Analytics.
Categories of personal data we collect

Purposes of use
- Plugin inputs: only to compute the answer to that request.
- Connection data: to deliver the service and protect it against abuse.
- Website analytics: to see which pages and examples are useful and improve the site.
- Email: to answer you, and for license orders to issue the contract and invoice and meet accounting duties.
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising profiles, or use plugin inputs to train models.
Categories of recipients
- Hosting and network provider: Cloudflare, Inc. runs the MCP server (Cloudflare Workers) and DNS (privacy policy).
- Website hosting: GitHub, Inc. (GitHub Pages) (privacy statement).
- Web analytics: Google LLC (Google Analytics 4) (privacy policy).
- Email: our email provider, and our accountant for license invoices.
- Your AI client (for example ChatGPT) sends your request to us and receives the answer under its own privacy terms. We do not send it any other data.
Some of these providers process data outside the EU under EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Retention
- Plugin tool inputs and outputs: not stored. They exist in memory only while the request is processed (normally under one second). We keep no request logs with inputs.
- Connection data at Cloudflare: kept by Cloudflare for its security and operations purposes, typically no more than 30 days; we see only aggregate request counts.
- Google Analytics: user-level event data is deleted after at most 14 months (the retention setting of our property); aggregate reports remain.
- Email: kept as long as needed to answer you, at most 2 years; license order records 8 years as Hungarian accounting law requires.
Your controls and rights
- Use the plugin without giving any personal data: it needs no account. Do not paste secrets such as production security keys into tool inputs; the tools do not need them.
- Disconnect the plugin at any time in your AI client's settings.
- Block analytics cookies in your browser or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of or objection to processing, and data portability. Write to andrii@shylenko.com; we answer within 30 days.
- You can complain to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH, naih.hu) or your local authority.
Children
The plugin and site are for engineers and are not directed at children under 16.
